Silver Surfers

A news article that’s caught my eye this week is a collaboration between Valerie Singleton, founder of Discount-age, Wessex Computers and Vegan Solutions to create a very easy to use interfaced computer they are calling Simplicity aimed at the over 50’s.

Simplicity GUI Graphical User Interface

The computer itself doesn’t have any kind of log in screen just a single set of 6 choices; email, browse the web, chat, about me, documents and video tutorials. Former Blue Peter presenter Valerie Singleton stated; “…For some time now, we have been aware of the need among older people for a simpler type of computer. We don’t need the bells and whistles that modern computers offer, we just need something that’s simple to use and reliable…”

2 variants will initially be on sale; a desktop with a single core processor retailing for around the £300 mark and a min desktop dual core option for around £390. Cracking idea! Lets empower ‘Silver Surfers’ everywhere!
