Silver Surfers
Thursday, November 12th, 2009A news article that’s caught my eye this week is a collaboration between Valerie Singleton, founder of Discount-age, Wessex Computers and Vegan Solutions to create a very easy to use interfaced computer they are calling Simplicity aimed at the over 50’s.

The computer itself doesn’t have any kind of log in screen just a single set of 6 choices; email, browse the web, chat, about me, documents and video tutorials. Former Blue Peter presenter Valerie Singleton stated; “…For some time now, we have been aware of the need among older people for a simpler type of computer. We don’t need the bells and whistles that modern computers offer, we just need something that’s simple to use and reliable…”
2 variants will initially be on sale; a desktop with a single core processor retailing for around the £300 mark and a min desktop dual core option for around £390. Cracking idea! Lets empower ‘Silver Surfers’ everywhere!
